Two adjoining Presbyterian congregations in Hamilton share in providing an excellent youth program for their own young people and the youth of the community. South Gate Church and Chalmers Church have established a group which we call CAUTIONS ("Christians Are United Together In One Noble Saviour"). The group is for Young People aged 12 to 18 and meets on Sunday evenings at 7:30. The activities of this group are led by our Youth Worker. In additional to the Sunday evening gatherings which have a fellowship, recreational and spiritual focus - the group meets about once a month for other special events.
Each summer there are also both national and international opportunities for youth to participate in camps, conferences and mission and service programs. Details of these opportunities are posted or may be secured from the Youth Worker or the Minister.
For information about coming Cautions activities you may check the Weekly Events page or call the church office at 905-383-3033.
The Chalmers Sunday School Program
The Chalmers Congregation hosts a Sunday School program for children from preschool age through High School. Children for the Sunday School gather with the congregation for the opening of the worship service on Sunday morning at 10 A.M. They then exit from the service to attend age appropriate classes that meet during the remainder of the worship time. There is a separate section of the web site devoted to the Sunday School program and we invite you to visit it for additional information. Chalmers Sunday School

The 39th. Guide Group
Chalmers Church is home to the 39th. Guide Group. This program offers the regular programs for Brownies (aged 6-8), Guides (aged 9-11), Pathfinders (aged 12-15) and Rangers (aged 15+). Parents inquiring about access to these programs are invited to call the church office at (905) 383-3033 and we will have an appropriate leader respond with detailed information about the program. The 39th. Group does not have a web site but for more information about the Guiding program you might check the national web site of Girl Guides of Canada.
The 26th. Scout Group
The 26th. Scout Group is the oldest continuing Scout Group in Hamilton and is also currently one of the largest and most active Scouting groups in the Hamilton area.
There are Beavers (aged 5-7), Cubs (aged 8-11), Scouts (aged 12-14), Venturers (aged 14-17) and Rovers (aged 18-25). Again, a call to the church office is your link to additonal information about these programs.
The 26th. Scout Group owns and operates its own summer camp (Camp Wheeler) near Minden in the Haliburton region of Ontario. Children and young people in the program have an opportunity to share in exciting summer programs in this lovely setting.
Scottish Country Dancing
While not a program of the Chalmers Congregation the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society holds its weekly instructional classes for children and young people in the Chalmers building and we would be pleased to pass on to them any inquiries about their activities.
